Biking fun

June is supposedly ‘tsuyu’ rainy season here but it’s been delightful weather recently. Of course if it’s not cold then it must be hot for those that prefer to complain but the real summer heat and humidity is still to come. At least I don’t have to work during it for the most part. :-)

With the weather being so pleasant we’ve been spending quite a bit of time outdoors on the weekends. Syd really loves being outside. It can be difficult to get him inside sometimes in fact. Reni loves playing outside too though probably not quite as much as Syd. Once either of the boys is outside and there’s some of nature’s toys to enjoy, such as sticks, rocks or water, they’re very content to play.

These photos were taken the weekend before last at Tsukimi-ga-oka Koen, a park about 10 minutes drive away on the coast. It was constructed on landfill at the expense of a surfing spot (much to my friend Dan’s disappointment) a few years ago. With a wide open expanse of grass and loads of climbing apparatus it’s a great place to take the boys.

On this day Syd tried out his new tricycle and Reni practiced riding his bicycle. Syd still has a bit of work to do to get the hang of pedalling. Reni is getting better and better at riding his bike. It won’t be that much longer before he and I will be able to go for rides together. That will be cool!
